Activity 1

 

Ask students to tell out adult schools in their city they know and how to apply for the schools.

 

 

Activity 2/Group work

 

In a group, talk about your education or the education of someone you know, by using the past tense of be. For example, say “I was in high school from 1997 to 2001. Math was difficult for me.” “My son was a student at the Benson Vocational School last year. It was a good school.”…

 

Activity 3/Pair work (make your schedule)

How do you spend your day? For example, when are you at work? When are you in school? When do you work around house, do your homework, or do something else? Write your activities for each morning, afternoon and evening. When do you have free time? Write your free time in the schedule too. After making your own schedule, ask and answer questions on your schedule with your partner.

With a partner, role-play a conversation at the registration office of a school. One person is the office worker. Use the words in this lesson and the present of be, past of be.
